Hello – we are now at the seminary in Zaoksky. After loading the double-decker bus at the train station at 6am, we traveled through Moscow, visiting and learning about several historical sites. The weather today in Moscow was -3 Celsius (cold!) and windy, so it felt more like 10 Fahrenheit. We were happy that it wasn’t raining as well – we saw enough rain in London and St Petersburg! We walked around Red Square and St Basil’s Cathedral for 45minutes, until everyone was thoroughly frozen. We took a group picture, which I hope to post tonight – we are headed to assembly and dinner in a few minutes.
We were greeted at the seminary by many academy/elementary students who were very excited to see us. They had been waiting for us and made our arrival very welcome. We have been blessed along the way by many new friends.
OK – well, I would like to write more right now, but have a group assembly in a minute. We will post more this evening – so keep looking.
Mrs. K
We have just arrived in Moscow via the overnight train from St Petersburg. We are bleary-eyed, ready for breakfast and waiting for the bus. But we’re all here safely. The train trip was an experience of which I’m sure you’ll hear about in due time. Right now, I have just enough time to update you on how we’re doing. We did not have internet access in St Petersburg. We stayed at the SDA church and were given incredible hospitality. We have good memories and new friends.
Yesterday we toured St Petersburg on 2 buses, traveling all over the city and sampling good Russian food. In the afternoon, we visited Catherine’s Palace and have many pictures to share with you. Once we get to the seminary, I can upload some photos.
We will be spending the day touring around Moscow in 2 buses again, and we will get to the seminary this evening. I will post again hopefully by tomorrow. We’ll see how the wireless works!
Everyone is doing well – nobody is sick. And they all send their greetings home! Love to you all – until next post…
